Along the lines of …”Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime” I was walking down the street the other day in my neighborhood (East Village, NYC) and noticed a homeless lady collecting recyclable trash.
I thought why not have her collect ordinary trash on the street? The city could set up a homeless center that would give people money for trash they picked up. The center could also provide city services (healthcare, education, food) to those who are homeless and serve as a great community and focal point of outreach.
And it would clean the streets and create inexpensive “jobs”
